Though producing a show during a pandemic, with masks and distancing required comes with challenges, this production faced it with creativity.
The concept for Sweeney Todd was to tell the story through shadows. For this reason, the costume design for the show gives each character unique shapes that are metaphorical of their journey. The costume team are used many non-conventional materials, like irrigation tubing and zip ties to construct the non-realistic costumes.

Research
Though often Costume Designers rely on tools such as period, texture, and color, in this production, shape was used to create metaphorical costumes. For this reason, research and inspiration included sources with exaggerated shapes, such as Bauhaus Triadic Ballet, Cirque du Soleil, and High Fashion.
