Dramaturgy

Bright Star 2024, Purdue Theatre
Dramaturg Bright Sta

I acted as a Dramaturg for Bright Star in 2024 in addition to Costume Designing it. Being a Dramaturg allowed me to utilize my love of research while creating materials which were  shared with a broader audience, like the design team, the cast, and audience. As dramaturg, I participated in design meetings, presented to the cast, wrote an actor packet, participated in rehearsals, and prepared audience facing materials including a program note, digital Audience Brochure, and Visual Lobby Display, as well as hosting a talkback. Please peruse some of these materials here.

National Poster Sessions

United States Institute for Theatre Technology

USITT's Digital National Poster Session is a great way to share research and expand your scholarly activity. Submissions can include new solutions to old problems, innovations, research results, discoveries, developments, and more.

I presented digital posters at the 2022 and 2024 Conferences.

Undergraduate Research Symposium

The University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film, and Television

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is a showcase for the best Theatre, Film, and Television student essays held annually at the University of Arizona. It highlights innovative scholarship in these fields. I was a winner and two time finalist with this incredible event. I hope to continue on with academic writing, hopefully focusing on the history of Costume Design, and other Costume related subjects.

2020

I won the 2020 Undergraduate Research Symposium, with my paper "Justice and Mercy: History and Religious Ambiguity in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice." Due to the COVID pandemic, the 2020 Symposium was held virtually, so I learned basic video editing  to create an animated video to showcase my research in an engaging way. I am proud to share that work, as well as the paper itself with you here!

2019

I was a finalist in the 2019 Undergraduate Research Symposium with her paper "Debating the Primacy of Everyman and Elckerlijc:

Authorship and the Reformation in Theatre of the Middle Ages." This paper was a major catalyst in my journey to love scholarly research in addition to my long-time love of research in the realm of costume design.
